Decision intelligence over gut feeling: how an AI-assisted personal boardroom structures preparation

Important decisions rarely fail for lack of intelligence. They fail for lack of preparation: too few perspectives, too much gut feeling, and no record of why the call was made this way and not another. This is precisely the gap an AI-assisted personal boardroom is meant to close.

The problem with gut feeling

Intuition is fast and often surprisingly good — but it is also blind to its own gaps. It rarely seeks out the uncomfortable counter-position, it does not document itself, and it is hard to justify after the fact. In regulated or high-stakes contexts that is a problem: if you cannot show how a decision was reached, you cannot defend it.

What a personal boardroom does

The core idea: instead of a single answer, an AI-assisted boardroom delivers several structured perspectives on the same question — as if convening a small advisory board. Typically:

  • an advocate view that builds the strongest case for the proposal;
  • a critic view that deliberately hunts for weaknesses and risks;
  • a fact check that separates assumptions from evidence;
  • and a synthesis that brings the threads together into a balanced recommendation.

The value lies not in one perfect answer but in structured disagreement — and in the fact that this disagreement is captured.

Preparation becomes an artefact

Perhaps the most important effect: preparation becomes visible. Where there used to be a conversation inside one’s head, a traceable record now appears — which options were weighed, which objections were heard, which assumptions were made. This artefact helps not only with the decision itself but afterwards: in communicating to stakeholders and in demonstrating due diligence.

Where GARION fits in

GARION is a native macOS application that structures exactly this preparation process. The GERYON module acts as a personal boardroom: it runs a question through several roles, records arguments and counter-arguments, and condenses them into a documented basis for preparation. The decision itself stays with the human — GARION makes sure it rests on ordered, auditable groundwork.

Note: GARION supports preparation for the EU AI Act and related frameworks. GARION is not a substitute for legal advice, conformity assessment or certification.
